Well it looks like saturday will be the first time out with the different top end on the car. The nitrous is not wired up & I need a blowoff line, so I'm not using it. Pretty much be just tuning in the engine, hell the cam isnt even broke in yet.
Lets have some fun & play guess that ET! I'll throw you a curve, take guesses at what the 60' will be too Wink I got a good idea, but lets see if I can fool anyone here ....heh heh heh....

80 Z28, 3490# on the starting line
383
10.3:1
Custom Isky solid flat tappet cam, (I dont have the specs here, but "around" 244/257 @.050, .550/.570 lift, 110 LSA)
Dart Iron Eagles, 215cc runners, 2.05/1.60, box stock
Dart Cool Kan (high dual plane intake), 1" spacer
750 Edelbrock Wink
Ancient Accel dual point dizzy,Accel coil
Holley Ignition box
Hooker Comp headers
2 1/4" exhaust, h-pipe
Th350/Coan 10"
3.23 rear end, 275/60/15 BFG drag radials
****this is opening day for the track, so the track will either be super sticky or a skating rink, depending on the VHT****
With any luck, car will be driven to and from the track.

I'm going to guess you pull a 1.73 60' and run a 12.42 @ 113. If i'm right, I'm playing the damn lottery.

How about 13.2 @ 108 w/ a 60' of 2.02 . (since you haven't dialed the car in yet).

How about a 1.78 60' and a 12.29 @ 110 MPH. What is the tracks elevation that you race at? I'm 2000 feet for my guess. Give or take a .01 for every hundred feet + or - Very Happy

Track elevation is 801', I'm hoping the temps should be in the high 60's/low 70's, humidity will be high as always!

Having used them last year, I don't think the drag radials will take the hit. 1.85 short , 12.5 quarter with a huge top end when you get your legs under the car, like 113 through the eyes?

You have inside information! I hate the drag radials too! Last year I was running 12.80 at 108mph, with the average 60' being a "moped-like" 1.96. Anything over 1000rpm on the line and it gets ugly quick.
I've shifted a lot of the top end grunt down lower, hoping to pick up the short time, but not too confident in it.... I'm hoping your right osmiumfoot!

When I had drag radials on the Chevelle a few years back (HOOSIER 30x9x15's) the car hooked hard with very little burnout. 60 foots were 1.67 One thing that I didn't like was the added RPM through the traps, 7400 as compared to 6900-7000 with bias ply slicks. I also only used 16 LBS "cold" tire pressure. So if you drive it to the track on the BFG's, you might want to invest in a portable air tank to re-inflate them back up to 32 LBS for the ride home. Hope this helps Very Happy

I'm going to say 12.85 @105 MPH. W/ a 60' time of 1.89. Just a guess.

lol, well it was a little rainy saturday, so that was a no-go. I'm shooting for this saturday, depending on if I can get the new water heater in the house by then Evil or Very Mad Good thing is I now have a indoor pool!

I think the track gets on its normal schedule in May, so I got 3 days to pick from then. Feel like I cant win right now!

Sorry to hear that about the indoor pool. Hopefully no car parts became submarines.
