I'm very happy to announce I've broken into the 13's!! It may not seem like a big deal to many of you V8 guys, but I'm doing it with a 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder FWD car. No turbo either! Here's the slip:

R/T--------.270 ( still working on it, lol)
60'---------2.182 (on street tires)
330'-------5.921
1/8--------9.022
mph-------79.03
1000'------11.704
1/4---------13.974
mph--------99.33

It surprised the announcer to see a completely stock looking Cavalier run a high 13, lol! I know, you're skeptical right? Well I'll spill my guts.....

I'm currently running a wet n20 kit at the 75 HP level right now, but everything is hidden so it still looks bone stock inside and out. Other than that, there's nothing special going on here. I replaced my clutch with a high performance unit because my stocker was slipping real bad even off the juice, so I'm sure that helped a ton as well!

Man, amazing, you doubled the power with a nitrous shot. Surprised I'm just picking, you definately have a sleeper. I had a 95 Z28 that ran 9.30's bone stock, so pick on something and have some fun. Have fun and keep digging. Clay

Thanx, guys! hey Clay, that's 9.30's in the 1/8th right? I figured they run somewhere in the area of 14.1's in the 1/4, so that sounds right. And Doug, that's one serious looking Volvo you got there, you put that on a drag strip yet?

Yeah that was 1/8th. I have a 1/8th mile track about 30 min away, so I don't make the haul for a 1/4 mile track often. I ran it three passes back to back and it ran within 0.01 every time. (9.36 or 9.35, don't remember the mph, it was my first time at the track. Reaction time was a 1.1 something though - oops) Clay

Clay, sounds like that car is perfect for bracket racing. Just get to work on those reaction times!

Yea, but I didn't know back then. Reaction times have gotten decent, run a 72 Nova now that would be a decent bracket car if I would stop experimenting, but what's the fun in that......Clay
