9.92 at 130 finally. The wing was the main reason it drove great!!
That was at 6000 rpm with more to come.

That is a drop dead candy apple red paint. Absolutely gorgeous.
Curious how that wing design helps as from the angle I se I don't see it generating a lot of down force unless the wing is angles up and I can not see it.
Can Am racers (and Automobile Club de l'Ouest cars like Porsche 917, Ferarri, Jaguar and the Ford GT that raced at Les Mans and Monaco) discovered that carrying the body line straight back and terminating it in a straight drop off reduced aerodynamic drag, but they had to use vacuum cleaners to hold the car to the ground in Can Am racing until they were banded (then they added wings).

Dave, no down force, lid is at 0 degrees.
The difference is it is no longer acting as an airplane and lifting as you increase speed as it was doing before. I went 136 before and would not have tried again and didn't. Big time steering to slow it down.
Also we blocked the front if the car and cut slits in the rear of the front fenders to kill the air going over. Again like an airplane wing at speed.
Pic of the pan.

Thanks Dave!!
My son and I looked at one of his friends car a 62 Chevy 2 with a new 489 bbc and saw the brackets on the rear ladder bar were complete junk. We had him bring it to Nick's house so we could use the lift and what a joke it was. He had bought a Fab 9" for later and we ended up setting it up with new ladder suspension, reinforced all the hacked in frame, fixed the coil over front end and all the other crap we found wrong....
My son's friend that owns a body shop in turn took the Willys and completely fixed the glass body that was cracking and separating then Painted the thing. 2 week turnaround for both cars and we made the Nostalgia race in Sacramento. Both of us ran the best time ever. |

That wing even at 0 degrees adds downforce. _________________ 2001 Focus 2.0 Zetec

Yes it does because it negates the up force created in the rear of the car by being round.. |

Hey Adam,
Is that second pic supposed to be a video? Doesn't seem to have a link. Hey at least there are no AA meetings to attend. LOL
