Yup smacked again. Way over a foot yesterday. Had to shovel the porch roof 2 times in a week. Snow was up to the windows. The shed needed a roof raking too. Finished around midnight. So glad I upgraded my snow blower with a 10HP engine instead of the old 7HP. It has kicked ass every time. At least I put something motor related into this discussion about the weather. Cool

Nice. Just not quite that modified. Cool thing for me was it was an old chassis with holes for so many engines the 10HP was a drop on. No mods at all. Just have to do the rubber tire chunk on the impeller to through slush...

In north Idaho it has only snowed 3 times this winter, and it was all in Jan. It has been in the mid 50s, and all the snow is melted, even the piles from plowing are gone. In deere park washington which is near us they opened the golf course last weekend which is the earliest they have ever opened in the winter. It has rained a lot though, just not cold enough for snow. Paul, and Smoke, do you guys have snow mobiles?

Understand it is only a month away. Ever consider a 4x4 as a second car?

My old big block powered HD K20 Suburban would climb a tree and is what Chevy used to build their first Hummer (the real Hummer was never produced by GM and it can also climb a tree only slowly since it had a diesel engine).

You don't have to lift it so high that you need a boarding ladder to mount the truck, but tires definitely define how well you can conquer your environment whether snow, four foot of mud or trying to climb rocks. Bigger is better in off road tires which is why these are so good at getting you places

The snow sucked but I thought the temp was worse, -10 air temp with wind gusts of 60 mph!!!!

Looks like we have our first day above 40 degrees in the last 49 days. That is a record too. I agree the cold has been the other "SUCK" in this winter. Damn.

Paul, have you seen pictures from New England Dragway? Probably not going to be open as scheduled April 1st.

I probably won't have the Nova ready much before June anyway.

Hope you are well.

I'm about ready to sell my place and move somewhere warm. I'm so tired of winter!

Well I have had the A/C running for the past three weeks. We seemed to have by passed by spring and gone directly into summer. It has been in high seventies to mid eighties for the past three weeks. All the name brand Pro Stock racers have been testing for the past two weeks at Bradenton drag strip (sixty four miles from my house) in preporation to the Gator Nationals.

We race year round here, but the three closest tracks to me are only eighth mile now, even though they were all built for a full quarter mile track with more than adequate shut down area so they only changed the finish line location which drives me nuts. Bradenton and Gainesville are still full quarter mile tracks.

We had only one day below freezing here this winter (and in Tampa where the official temperature is recorded never saw below 34 degrees). But the temperature is located at the air port on Tampa Bay so it is always either cooler in the summer or warmer in the winter than me as I live thirty miles from the gulf. If you have a boat there is lots of water around here to run it in (salt or fresh water).

People are now hiring. Jobs don't pay as much as it does up North but the cost of living is a lot lower here because there is no taxing to worry about which means unless the feds pay for it there are no government services either. Thankfully I don't have kids in school as we are leading the charge to the bottom in terms of education. So if you can read and write you have a heads up on most other native born Floridians who gradguated Hy Skool.

Luckily being a peninsula we are very mild neither being too hot or too cold, but we are very humid.

Big Dave
