It will be days...... The case is behind the cover and mounts the injection pump and power steering/ brake pump. Trying to figure a good way to pull 2 gears without damage................................
One (Cam) will need a 3 leg puller. Someone said use a torch to heat!!!
So still looking at options. |

I think I just need the puller for the cam gear. No torch is going there.
The pump gear had two threaded holes for a puller and I got the best grade METRIC bolts the store had at 8.8...
Deer/Bear hunting sucked today by the way!!! |

I always thought 12.9's were equivalent to grade 8. I tried looking it up and it appears that some say 10.9 is, some say 12.9 so who knows. Most of the time if you get any socket head cap screw, they will be 12.9. You need some black marks on that fresh concrete ! That pic was from their web.
I need to wait until spring to let it loose on the new pad. Can't wait...
Now the water has to be drained or I will have no engine which might be a good thing because it never really ran like I thought it should....
Might put a Ford 5.0 because everyone is running 9's in a fox body!! |

Be sure you put on some underdrive pulleys and a K & N filter . Those are good for about at least 2 seconds off the e.t. - how many times have I heard "If I could just get it to hook I think I could run 11's or even 10's - from a stock 5.0 (old 302) with basic bolt ons. got the bolt info from McMasterCarr. i dont really know what the 12.9 is supposed to be. some special alloy, i assume. like specialty fasteners for head bolts and harmonic balancers.
Nitrous Adam, lots of nitrous. _________________

I have a book that came with my Matco torque wrench named Tips on Torque. It has all types listed in 3 charts. I use it quite often when I am working on a car without the service manual for bolts that I need a torque spec for. Here is what it says
US Standard
Grade S.A.E
1&2 64000psi
5 105000psi
6 133000psi
8 150000psi
Whitworth Standard
Marked bolt head
A&B 62720psi
S 112000psi
T 123200psi
V 145600psi
Metric Standard
5D 71160psi
8G 113800psi
10k 142000psi
12k 170674psi
So looking at it 10k is slightly less than grade 8 but better than 6 and 12k is better than grade8.
Simple huh?
