My block has been bored and honed and cleaned at a shop but the out side of the block still had the white looking corrosion on it.
I am ready to start my build and want that gone before I assemble it.
How do I get that stuff off ?

The only white granular corrosion I know of is with aluminum. Do you have an aluminum block?

Before we installed a 4.6 in my Dad's 48 truck, I used one of the cheap sandblasters (had about a quart hopper on it) from Harber Freight or maybe Northern and put baking soda in it. You can blast about anything and not hurt it - fuel rails, injectors, etc. It does a great job of cleaning aluminum but not really roughing it up any like sandblasting does. How about something simplier like a wire brush? Don't really know how much corrosion you are talking about. Just throwing out options. Clay

I would not blast it with anything if it is already clean, I had a similar problem and used a wire wheel on a electric grinder after it was assembled.

One thing I do like about the baking soda is it dissolves when you wash the block for assembly. I agree you with blasting some things and being paranoid about missing that one piece of grit......Clay
