W-10, WS-2000, W-2 car wasn't GM's greatest idea. They lost $2,000 on every one made which is why they showed Roger Smith the door. What you have is basically an Impala with an Olds interior. Your 4T60e transmission is going to be your Achilles heel as the drive stubs don't last long even with V-6 power.
Welcome to the site and good luck with your project. I think if you are going to race it then treat it like the Lumina (same W-10 body) and build a tube frame to convert to rear wheel drive. It is what Warren and Kurt Johnson did with their Luminas (though I think Warren is using Olds Cutlas trim to be nostalgic).
