Someone has one of these units on the market locally, and wants to trade me it for some of my spare stuff.

I saw a few old threads of some of you guys working with them, is it worthwhile?

Figured I will get a straight answer here. Most of my web searches come back to people with issues with them- but since I dont know anything of the person posting, who knows how valid their complaint is...

He has the throttle body unit, the ecm, fuel pump, and the manual for it. Is asking 600 cash for it but wants to trade me for some stuff- figured I should find out if its worth owning first

I still run my 1993 vintage analog system with the pots on the front.

It only uses a TPS, Tach signal and coolant temp for sensors required to run it. There is a mechanical adjustable fuel pressure regulator in it as well.

Always runs great just has a limit of 600HP.

What system is it that you are looking at? The newer ones are digital with more of the normal stuff used today in a car O2 sensors, Air idle control, fuel maps ect...

Not sure on the age, but its a box with knobs on it for choke, idle, power 1, power 2

seems to be an earlier model... maybe 600 is a bit steep.

also its been pulled from the car now- kinda breaks the deal for me. No idea how to know if any of it is any good without trading blind and hooking it up and hoping... Rolling Eyes

Yep. I think I am going to work on sellinghim my stuff he wanted, and tucking that money away for something more useful later...

Thanks for the info guys- if the system goes for sale dirty cheap enough (2 digit number) I may grab it for something to tinker with...

That is the same as what i have. Nice but if it is used you definitely are taking a risk if you have not seen it running on the car.
