Dave, not to argue but I had PV's cause a big headache on my(then)69 Chevelle. Exactly what the OP was saying as far as idle drop to the point my neighbor/landlord asked me to shut the car off at 10:00 PM because of the rich issue I had. I was dealing with 2 carbs with the Cross Ram.
Just another thing you remember in this world.
