This is a new motor I am just finishing up for a friend of mine. It was nice to build a Chevy for a change but still cant stand the cam button design LOL. We are hoping he can get some low 11's high 10's out of this N/A. We will see he wanted somthing he could drive on the street on pump gas and low timing then go to the track and turn the timing up with some pump race gas. I think it should make alittle more than 500fwhp. All I need now is the lifters (they should be here Tuesday) then I can order the pushrods.
Stock 350 1980 block 4bolt main
Scat 3.75 4340 crank internal balance
5.7 Scat 4340 I beam with 7/16 cap screws
Probe Flat top pistons 4.030 11 to 1 comp
Professional products balancer
Lunati solid roller .600int .600exh .255int .263exh@.050 110LSA 106ICL
Comp Cams .180 offset roller lifters
Dart Pro1 230cc 64cc combustion chamber
Edelbrock victor 4+4 intake
Demon 825 carb
89 IROC
700r4
3000stall
10bolt 3.27 gears
26x8.5 M/T slick
So what do you guys think it will run?

this is an area i have some expierience with
a good friend of mine put a 498hp+tq 383 in his 87 gta
best i saw was a12 flat @117ish
700R4 3000 STALL
3.27 GEARS
IT RAN A BEST OF 11.7'S without me there
EVERY THING WAS STOCK = BAD SUSPENSION
put that motor in my car id run bottom 11's na or close to it
what suspension mods?????
do lca's and relo brackets ,an adjustable torque arm with i.c. adjustment as well, and shock/struts
and run a 28x 12.5 e.t. street (4.11 to 4.30 gear)
or3.73 to 4.11 gear with the skinny 26"
under the assumption he keeps that tight converter
if it has a good suspension on it already
id guess 11.2 -4's@120 ish if it is in the 3100-3200 lb mark _________________

huh........it would be either a 3.42 if it is the lil 10 bolt(7.625)
or 3.45 if it is the disc brake borg warner diff.(7.75)
now im nit picking.......
im really more curious about the combo maybe it is a different rear all together _________________

Similar to the 383 I ran for a while. Cam was very close - durations almost identical but I had a 112 seperation because ultimately I was going to use it for the Procharger or nitrous. I ran Sportsman II heads that I had done some pocket porting. My compression was a little under 10 - 1. Basically everything that you have different should be better than the setup I had. Smoke's horsepower calculator said I had around 475 - 490 depending on what m.p.h. it happened to run. E.t.'s were in the mid 7's in the 1/8th at 3800 lbs. so with a lighter car I don't see a problem at all with making your goals. More than likely its a 3.42 the owner said it was 3.55 and I haven't even looked at it. He also said the all the bushings have been changed to poly and the arms have been boxed it has frame connectors and a bolt in roll bar. So the chassis will need work.

We will see I got the offset lifters this past weekend and measured for pushrod length so it will be complete this weekend hopefully and running before the end of the month if all goes well. Just not sure how long the rearend and trans will last LOL. But I feel we can get low 11's high 10's out of it. Thanks for the vote of confidence Clay we will do our best to get it in the 10's.

Got this car running last Friday sounds pretty good found a tranny leak on the front seal so it has to come backout before he can go to the track and get some test runs. He did run it down the street a few times and its pretty much a tire smoke machine on the street.

Took this car out and with single wheel peel and shifting at 5500 and leaving at 2000 it went 12.89@110. So we have some work to do and he has some parts to buy. LOL But it was a good start.

Yeah nothing under a 2.0 60ft I also was checking on a few things with the car today he was only getting about 3/4 throttle at the most and he striped out the oil pressure line fitting so it was leaking pretty bad under the car. I fixed those issues and he is looking for gears and a spool for me to put in it, it needs a tranny change and a converter bad also.

He ran 8.07 with a 1.81 60 ft lifting he was bracket racing but he broke out since the car hooked alittle.
