i built it mainly to go to cruise-in's.have'nt been down the track yet..i have to get some new belts..the rear gear is a tad low(4.71)..thinking about a 4.11..the engine is pretty mild..9.5 comp..331 scat balanced assembly..trick flow stage 1 cam..650dp carb..34* lock timing stock tfi dist..tiny 1 5/8 headers..now the bad part..PRO-CRAP 210 HEADS...(don't beat me up to bad)..i'm on a mission to see how long they last now that i have them..they came from skip white on e-bay..he puts his parts in bare castings..roller rockers and stud girdle...trans is a c-4 with a 3500 red neck in it..the car seems pretty quick for what it is..has a lot of torque(not saying it is fast)but fun as shit on the street..off idle to 6000 is as quick as some low 10 second cars i have driven, but without all those set of the pants G's..i think it will run low 12's...maybe...anyway, thats some more info.....i posted a pic of my last car i built..1985 rx-7..406 sbc,350 trans,4000 stall,8.8 4.10 from a 2006 ranger ..thanks for the comments.

I won't give you a hard time about the heads - good or bad, I'm always curious about stuff like that. I'm also curious about how much that "Z" weighed though - I'm thinking it's gotta be really light. Clay

Don't see many Comets anymore. Must feel like a bear with those gears. Must be a totally different experience from the SBC RX7.
I've never bought hard parts from Skip White but everything I've got from him was good stuff. A couple of things that I remember from him were a 100 amp alternator and a dual electric fan setup that have given me no problems what-so-ever.
