The day started by pushing my car out of the garage to load on the trailer. I get about 2' out the door and hear the garbage can...nice rub mark in the paint now Sad
Load the car and head for the local gas and go...get coffee and top off the Cell.
Drive the back roads up to the track...so far so good.
Make a pass after getting tech'd in 12.3 @ 111 Confused
Adjust air pressure and shocks 12.5 @ 112 Confused
Adjust air pressure and add timing 12.3 @ 111 Confused

Adjust shocks, heat up tires, get ready to stage and get waved out ... coolant leak Shocked Look all over with motor off and NOTHINGS wet. Start the car to go back to the pits and see white smoke so I jump out and look only to find steam out of left header Crying or Very sad Load up watch some races, come home, pull motor apart and find head gasket blown between # 3 and 5 cylinders.

Low 12's on 6 or 7 cylinders I guess ain't too bad ?

That stinks. Sounds like the start of my track day when I burnt the piston up. Sometimes I think we just need to learn to take a hint from the speed gods. When things start off bad, just push it back in the shop and go watch some racing. Did it just get the gasket or did it hurt the head / deck surface? If just a gasket, that's not too bad. What did you have timing pushed up to? Clay

Pulled apart and found it's just the gasket... just got the new MLS gaskets (never used before) but I cheeped out last time and am now paying for it...Luckily it's not real bad...just a gasket, time, and money.
