The car is still in paintshop hell. But we will pick it up soon to mock everything up so the engine bay can be painted.

This is going in a rag top mustang? Then you have plans for pipe to stiffen it up?

I told the owner that it would need atleast a rollbar but this will mostly be a dyno queen. We have already installed the Kenny Brown extreme matrix sub frame connectors they really stiffened it up. Hopefully he will listen to me and get atleast and rollbar for it.

Yes listening is good. Likely he will not have enough tire to really stress it.

Well picked the car up from paint shop hell to test fit everything. I am still trying to figure out some way to hang a alternator on this thing. I might have to change the passenger side down pipe but we will see.

Wow. Not really a place for even a mini alternator. Looks like a bigger problem than an oil leak I have on the pan right now on the 408. Might have to pull the motor to fix it.

NASCAR bolts theirs to the bottom side of their Ford nine inch rear end hosing on the front side of the differential case and drive the alternator off of a flat pulley V-belt bolted to the rear drive shaft flange.

I think you can buy the mounting kit from Speedway.

Of course it only charges while the car is moving so if you were going on a date with a lot of rear seat time necking the battery might go dead if you had one of those 130 dB radio's playing your favorite glass rattling thump bump thump song. Rolling Eyes Laughing

wont be room over the rear axle without modifying the floor. then its goodbye back seat. can you flip the alternator around backwards and mount it just above the inlet tube on the right side ? you would need about 7" clearance from the radiator fans. if you have solid engine mounts, you dont even have to mount it to the block. you could build mounts off of the "frame".
