I haven't posted around here for a while, I forgot what a great site this is.
So over the winer I redid the top end of the motor because Im need to pick up about .4 to run an index class next year. I do realize Im not going to pick up the whole amount on the motor so I will be adding a plate system too.
Here is the before/after specs on the engine, how much hp do you think I will make now?

old set up 775hp
555" 13.5 comp
286/296@.050 .724/.714 110 lsa
otb dart pro1 345
otb dart 4500 intake
1250 dominator

new set up
555" 13.5 comp
283/297@.050 .825/.775 113 lsa
CFM perf. ported 365cc pro1's flow around 425 @ .800
ported super victor intake
1250 dominator.

what kind of power do you guys think I picked up, thanks Jason

I calculated the power based on airflow and CU IN. If the head is the limiting factor to maximize power it says 873.81HP @ 8054rpm.

I think Paul ran it through a desk-top dyno using your flow numbers and cam and that is where it peaked in HP. You usually shift above peak to keep RPM between peak torque and HP so it wouldn't be unheard of carrying your shift point 400 to 600 RPM past peak HP to try and wring out what you can if your heads and valve train can support it.

I was listening to Darian Morgan while driving up to watch the Gatornationals Qualifying (and the Finals of the Previous race called on account of rain) and he states he gets only 7 runs at 9,600 RPM and yet can make nearly 25 runs at 9,300 RPM with their store bought Comp motors they sell (Raptor heads) so every RPM makes a difference in BBC spring life.

I finally got to the track to see what I picked up if anything. The car did pick up around .3 and almost 4 mph over my typical pass from last year at the same track in roughly the same weather conditions (7500'D.A.)

It went from running high 10.1x's@ 134 mph to running a 9.81@ 138. This was the first race of the year at the track and it has been very wet in the area, so the track was less than ideal. My 60's were off almost a full tenth..1.40 vs. 1.32. I hope with a better track to maybe nock off another tenth.

I never considered it before, but I think I need to go up to a 29.5x10.5 tire because I was turning almost 7500 rpm through the traps and would like 7000 rpm a little better, its a was built to turn 8000+ but I dont see the need for it.
