You'll have a stout street/strip car when you get it sorted out.
Do you think it's a matter of synchro's in the Munci?
It can get pricey if it needs hard parts.
What kind of clutch do you run?
Are you sure the clutch is releasing at RPM?
If you drive it much on the street I'd look into what overdrive stick trannies would hold up to your 412.
I run an automatic overdrive in my Nova with 4.11s and 28" tires. It really makes the car a pleasure to drive on the highway. |

that was my first running @the track, my 60` were from 2.2
down to my best of 1.50 of which on this run i could not get
into 3rd gear i did find a guy today to check the sincros he thinks
they maybe tight?? centerforce 11" clutch with weights on the
pressure plate... it definately was not slipping..
but was grabbing lower after 10 runs.. with tranny shifting and
slicks maybe 11.30s

I see high 10's when you get the 60' where it was. Track prep not so good? |
