this is not hi-po stuff but maybe you guys know this one. I have a 95 monte carlo. I blew a rear brake line so i redid both lines all the way back from the abs modulator. I bled the modultor first then bled all four lines and the brake warning light will not go off. The brakes seem to work fine. Is there a way to reset the valve like the old cars where you had to push a pin while hitting the pedal to reset the proportioning valve?

i know the trucks of that era had em
dont know if your car does

ill almost bet my paycheck on the fact you still have air bubbles in the system

in this case its better to put your finger over the bleeder (cracked open) and have someone SLOWLY pump the brake allowing presure to squirt past your finger tip and not allowing (much) air in

go through a full pint of dot3 this way if you got to

then at the end do your final bleed the way you always do

sounds crazy but it always works for me with a system that does not cooperate

I have had some that I had to cycle the abs with my scanner wile pressure bleeding to get all the air out. when the fluid runs clear and clean, close up the bleeders and pump up, light goes out.

X2. sometimes its tricky. what code do you have ? does the light stay on or come on after you drive it ?

What Squeezer said, plus teflon tape the threads of the bleeder screws and then no air can suck in during bleeding. Somtimes I use a hand vacuum pump on the bleeder, or tubing on the bleeder with the other end submerged in a brake fluid bottle if you dont have a helper.
