Does anyone look for used cams? am i better off scrapping my old ones? I dont want to waste anyones time, and im tired of having the stuff lay around, I am just curious what else could be used.. obviously pistons probably couldnt be reused but what about the rods? If i have the pins pushed out would they be worth keeping?
thanks

I have the same problem with cams, I have a couple of older roller grinds sitting around that I don't need. They are too big for the street but they are not the most powerful cams for the track. As far a pistons, if they are not damaged they can be re-used, just have to find someone who wants the bore size they are for. Rods the same thing. Or you could do what I want to do, save all the racing stuff and build a killer street machine with it all.

| lol well unfortunately mine isn't really "race" stuff. its basically just old standard or maybe even rv cam type stuff. and the pistons were factory as well, or one bump up. |

Well, I dont feel so bad for thinking about nabbing some slightly used forged pistons for my first nitrous engine...
I figure theres a good chance I could have a mishap, less money in it = less money to lose. haha
eBay is awesome for used odds and ends like that- I have moved some seemingly worthless pieces on there- there is really always someone who will use the stuff if youll give it to them cheap... _________________ Budgets were meant to be broken. |

I have had a roller cam on Craigslist for a while now for 200 and no takers it is a good Crower street/strip grind with the steel gear option. _________________ 2001 Focus 2.0 Zetec

Paul, E-bay it and hope for the best.
I sold an old Crower RR300 in good shape on there and ended up getting $180.00.
I feel 200 is too much, but it is you're cam. |

Good advise assuming all of the cams in question are roller cams. If they are for a flat tappet they are only good for ballast unless you have all of the lifters set up to go back on the exact same lobe that they came off of.

Yes it is a roller of course. I have been thinking about e baying the cam which may be the only way to sell it at this point. The cam lists new for 360 + ship so I thought 200 was ok. Maybe you are right let it go to the highest bidder.
