Hi guys and gals!

I'm a new member from Jonkoping in the south center of Sweden. We have long winters to spend in the garage, and short, but usually wonderful summers to enjoy the fruits of winters hard labour.

I've sold off my 440 RB and all related V8 racing stuff, but kept my narrowed Ford 9" axle.

Pocket Rockets is my main interest, ie a Opel Kadett sedan with a CIH 2,4 (2.0 block, 2.2 crank and Chevy 307 pistons) with dual Dellorto 48's, and a Opel Kadett City (Chevy Chevette) with a 2.0 C20XE with C20LET pistons.

My first race car, back in the 80's:

I'll have to say those are some of the smaller slicks I have seen. Like the picture though. It's something different. Welcome aboard. Clay

Welcome to the site!

Looks like you have really maximized what you have to work with. Great job. As I understand it you are pulling the wheels with an in line four. Which is remarkable in itself but most have poor heads, so you have really worked hard.

Thanks!

It was run under the old Stock rules (Any carburetor on a stock intake) so the Solex 2 port was substituted with a modified Weber 40 DFI and the 1900 was max overbored, and a "cheater" cam was used. Original Getrag 4 speed with a low 1st and closer ratio between 2 - 3 - 4th gearset. 4.75:1 final gear ratio and 22" slicks, 6" wide Wink on god tracks and 8" wide on less used tracks. 135SR15 Michelin ZX on 3,5" at front.

Best ET was 15.01 with a quarter mile terminal speed of 102 mph.

Despite the narrow slicks I had big problems with rear drive shaft failures, especially during wheelies from start. These drive shafts was ideal for Rally, with long jumps and hard objects to hit, but not for slingshot starts...
