I am thinking about purchasing a Gtech meter that measures horsepower, torque, 1/4, and 1/8 times. I was wondering if anyone has tried one and how accurate they are.

I played with one of the first generation meters and it was a decent tool. Mainly what I used it for was to track if a change made an improvement or not. I can't tell you if the numbers were accurate as far as h.p. or e.t.'s. Measuring h.p. it was very repeatable as long as you used the same section of road and didn't spin the tires (uphill or downhill will skew results). I tried it a few times without any changes and it would come up usually within 2 h.p., so I think it is a valid tool as far as wondering if a change is positive or not, I can't say about the other things it claims to do. I have one use it all the time.It is 1 mph and 1 tenth off just putting it on the windshield.Sometimes I have trouble with it aborting run if I leave off the trans brake. My best 60' on the street is 1.78 on 275/60/15 ET Street Radial on the engine.

Not all that bad really and the 1st gen ones are really cheap on e-bay.
I have one from a guy at work (gave it to me) and I found the receipt in the box ($ 279 & change new) Shocked

Pretty darn close too.
