We've decided to put a ZZ383 GM crate engine in a 79 Corvette. It will run a 3.36 rear gear with a Borg-Warner 4 speed. The original clutch is an 11 inch with a diaphram pressure plate. I want to install a strong enough set up but not have excessive pedal pressure. The guy's wife will be driving the car quite a bit.
It's just going to be a streeter. Any suggestions?

Sounds good to me. Don't know how strong the Borg-Warner is (are we talking a 1961 vintage or the more modern early seventies SUP-per T-10?). Either way the diaphragm clutch is easiest on the leg and will still hold a ZZ crate motor with ease.

It's an aluminum case Borg-Warner that came stock in the 79 Vette. Any suggestions on what manufacturer to go through for the clutch?

Hays makes a nice one. Hays Street Clutch Kit.
example not necessarily the best deal.

Centerforce might have one that fits the application too.
