lets say you got your new hot rod motor together and you think you have the right stuff in it and its time to hit the dyno and see what this beast is made of.
well first off you want to get the most out of this session because your probably looking for your projects potential or you wouldnt be spending the money to test it.
to get the most bang for your buck you need to prepare your engine for this event.
some facilitys like rheer morrison and a few others have different carbuerators/ignitions/spacers etc. and you dont need much with you but most of the time this is not the case .
idealy you should have a timeing cover that allows you quick access to the camshaft if you want to move your power around a little and make sure the gear is bushed for this process.
youl need your carb tuneing accesorys such as jets-power valves-plugs etc.
if your not sure on your carb size than a spare carb wouldnt hurt.
carb spacers of differant widths is very important if you want to optimize your volumetric efficiancy. even if you have to cut them out of plywood for the test and replace them later with better matierial.
a couple different heat ranges of plugs are somtimes needed.
be prepare to lash the valves after warm up.

even though dyno headders are used useually because they have egt ports and soforth you can useually take the hedders you plan on running and d a last pull or 2 with them and tell if there going to work for you or not.
the main thing is to be prepaired for anyting that pertains to tuneing and get the most of it.
