Man I really hate to see that happen...I really enjoyed this site`s auto math, it`s been very helpful....Even being a mopar guy in the midst of the GM faithful Wink
I will not have anything to do with paypal

Hopefully ya`ll will reconsider opening them up to registered members some day.

Thanks

Rick

Yeah I don't like to see it either, but it does cost money to run the site, and this would seem to be the best route for Smoke to take to help pay for the site.

Fior myself, I just don't use them all that much, even though that is what attracted me to the site in the first place.

I may at some point get a sub, but I will plan for when I know I will use them. Laughing

Sorry but the auto math section requires a subscription and no plans to change that. The fee is very inexpensive, it works out to approximately 6 cents a day. Help support the site and pay for a subscription.

If you want to pay and will not do paypal. Send me a PM and I'll send you the details how you can pay for one year subscription with a Money Order.

I only swing by occasionally so to be honest I haven't contributed much in the way of content or info. I did use the calculators on occasion - and bragged about how accurate they were. It's my opinion that charging for the use of the calculators after you already required people to register originally will just cause them to go elseware. I always thought you used the registration process to verify numbers of traffic to help attract advertisers. If it doesn't work that way then so-be-it I guess. Maybe needing less bandwidth because of the decrease in traffic will help the bottom line?

I think that a small fee for the use of the calculator especially one as accurate as this site's is very reasonable. think of it kinda like porn for the car guys LOL the pics and chat you get for free but to figure out the really interesting stuff ya have to pay and only about 6 cents a day is very very reasonable in my opinion. and as soon as I can afford to start doing some engine building i'll be buying a years subscription for the auto math myself!

Like everything in life nothing is free. Since the site was not targeted towards any one flavor of car the advertisers are minimal. Therefore I need to pay for the server, power, and bandwidth (never mind the time I invest on the site). I'm sorry you feel this way and value your input but I'm surprised at the resistance to help support the site to make it better. Good luck in finding other places to get your auto math but I'm pretty sure you'll find your way back since I feel this is the best auto math site and will only continue to get better.

I'm certainly not disagreeing that your calculators are great. I just worry that you're going to drive people away. (I hope I'm wrong) To be honest - I've always expected your site to take off since it was open to all types of vehicles. I really don't know why it hasn't.

I apologize if I've offended you (especially in my post that you deleted already). It just struck me wrong when I read it originally. I thank you for the work you've put into the site, the use of your calculators and bandwidth, and hope the best for you and your site for the future.

The articulate Mr smokeinhawk must have been on the wrong website with references to screwing and freaking gay.

How's the signing up going for Auto Math?
What is the process for signing up?

Sign ups are low. But I'm working on some new calcs to make the draw better. eDragstrip will is written in flash with some cool graphing features. I also have some more secret ones I'm working on which will be very cool.
