I'm from Mass. Close enough to CT. Which dragstrip do you run at?

I've never raced at Lebanon Valley. I usually race at New England Dragway. NED is a slightly shorter ride for me, about an hour drive each way.

Isn't Lebanon Valley in Penn state? Amish country, around Lancaster County, PA? My wife got her BA there.

I did a quick google and you are correct. However the Lebanon Valley Dragstrip is located in West Lebanon, NY. It's just over the western Massachusetts border in NY. I've heard they have a short shut down area with a jersey barrier at the end Shocked .

dawg what does your car run at the strip?

Everybody talks about how big Texas is; but I'd stack a days ride from Key West, FL to Pensacola, FL up against a Shreveport to El Paso jaunt any day. It is 420 miles to the GA state line from my house in the middle of the state, and the county I live is in six square miles bigger than the entire state of Conn. Course the good news with lots of real estate is that we have three strips within 80 miles of my house (only one still runs a full quarter mile any more though).

It seems strange to me to have to go to another state to race, and it probably is much more complicated as well, with restrictions on dangerous cargo, and tunnels and bridges, etc. in the Northeast. I couldn't drag my camper to a lot of places because of length and weight restrictions, and of course the chance that I might blow up a major city with a twenty pound bottle of propane for the camper stove kept me out of a lot of cities.

For that matter; can any Bubba with a stick welder splatter weld two chunks of scrap iron to the trailer axle out from under aunt Clara's new double wide and get a homemade tag for the car hauler; or are they a might more particular in your neck of the woods? Would they freak with a bottle of Nitrous sitting next to the Craftsman red plastic five gallon fuel cell? (I understand from my AAA agent that Georgia won't let a car drive on the road with a Nitrous set-up, even empty).

Dawg,
You said a 471 small block? Is that a typo? 471 Cu Inch or 471 blower?
I am in north central Mass. NED is about 54 miles from the house.
