are vortec heads really better than double humps with 2.02/1.60 valves. maybe some other suggestions on what to replace my double humps with. like to keep price under $800.

Hell they flow more than the 1st bowtie heads! Keeping on a budget has never worked for me! I will wait until I have the money to make it work. The springs need to be upgraded #1 and the rest will follow if they are used heads.

Vortecs are the only NEW heads that will fit under 800$. The problem is that you will need a new intake and self guided rockers which will bust the budget. Crying or Very sad Scoggin Dickey has vortecs modified for .525" lift for 325$ each. Stock they are about 230$ each but only handle .475" lift. Also, keep in mind that they are done @ 5500 rpm. A 3500 stall is for big rpms. If you could stretch the budget to 1000$ Brodix makes the IK200 which is an aluminum 200cc head that will use your intake, exhaust, and rockers. The sportsman II's also will use your existing stuff and list @ 880$.
