What are those goofy little square holes all the way infront on the heads intake surface?
Other than that the scene looks very familiar. I even get to pull the rockers off tomorrow to try differnt guideplates since I am unhappy with the alignment of the Comps with the LT1 heads(hence the coolant shot my intake is dry) |

Aha! Reverse cooling. Make sure you yo use loctite 518 when reassembling or you will have to do it again and again. |

The guides can be a real pain. I chose to use raised just because they are close to the rocker. Sometimes I have to grind the hole one way or the other to get the proper alignment and that is just part of the deal. |

The LT1 valvespacing is a little funky I guess, all the rockers form "V"s with the pushrod ends being closest together. A few of the roller tips are JUST at the edge of valvetips. I am going to try GMPP guideplates because I hear they line up a little better. Those who are really anal insist on Isky adjustables on the LT1.
Here is what I bolted onto my stock shortblock the third package down 190cc http://advancedinduction.com/AiProductsLT1.html, sprung for a few upgrades and the intake porting as well. Hoping for 380+ at the wheels. Should start it for the first time tomorrow. Hit some snags along the way, nicked the front cam bearing had to find on on a saturday afternoon , then the headers didn't clear the angle plugs on the aluminum heads. |

haha yea i guess i never really made it clear but ive been doin her right i think. my goal was to set her up as streetable as possible, but sacrafice a little comfort for a good ET time. i dont know if i ever mentioned my mods but i guess nows a good time.
-1976 chevy 350 4 bolt main, bored .060
-forged bottom end
-250/260 comp cams mechanical lift cam with .532, .555 lift, will be switching out for a roller hydraulic setup.
-magnum pushrods and 1.52 roller tip rockers, getting true rollers soon
-70cc heads flat top pistons, 2.02 intake, 1.6 exhaust.
-weiand single plane manifold
-temporary edelbrock 600cfm marine carb, soon to have barry grany speed demon 650, i jsut found out that a friend of my fathers works with barry grants and will tune it to my motor to perfection.
is this enough information for someone to predict horsepower and torque on a calculator? the car weighs exactly 3812 lbs. im going to guess around 350 horsepower and 380-400 ft lbs of torque. _________________ "Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines." -Enzo Ferrari |
