The .060 over bore makes them 388's not 383's.

yes i am aware of that but if i posted 388 pistons i get all kinds of stupid questions asking if thats a custom stroker aplication etc so for simplicitys sake i just name them as 383 pistons

When it comes to parts I prefer to know what I'm buying. 388's are not 383's. You don't save any time by selling them otherwise.

1979 Chevrolet Camaro

I don't mean to cause any argument or anything however,

4.030 bore x 3.75 stroke = 383

4.060 bore x 3.69 stroke = 383

So how does anyone know that they are not 383 pistons when the pistons are only part of the equation....he is only selling pistons, not a rotating assembly. So if you need to know what you are really buying, he would need provide:

Piston bore
Pin height
Pin offset
should say what the ring size is
floating or pressed pin
skirt size

But by saying they are 383 pistons with 6" rods, you know that you need to use the pistons in a chevy 350 bored .060 over with a 3.75" crank and 6" rods. So by reading between the lines and not needing everything spelt out in crayon all the info is there.
