October 22nd schedule at New England dragway has been changed. Instead of a test session it will be a make-up day for Imports.
That means Imports Only on the 22nd. NO TEST SESSION!!
I talked with a track official this afternoon to confirm this.
I know SMOKE and Paul P. were planning on going up that day.
At this time the 29th & 30th are scheduled for test session only. If I hear anything different I post the information.
I'm hoping to get up there both days to see how fast the Nova will go. I've raced Street all season and haven't been able to tune my 406 and I think there are a couple of tenths left in it.
I have a white 72 Nova with graphics on the side. (ST992). If you're up there stop by and say hi.

I got an idea I can stick one of those imports in the tailpipe of the car and say I'm running an import. Another idea is to hook and import to my truck and take it for a Drag down the track. WTF how can this be? This is America isn't it? I think it a sad day when imports are taking away time that could be spent testing American made stuff. This just plain sucks...

Hey Smoke,

Most GM, Ford and MOPAR parts are imported these days......... Any car could be considered an "import"

Hey you know something I might have an in to this import only thing. My Chevelle was made in Canada do you think they'll let me run?

As far a Japanese parts in things I think for a while now it's also true for Harleys. It still doesn't seem right because Drag Racing itself was started with American vehicles.
I know I'm just venting and nobody really cares anymore it's just racing...... Crying or Very sad

Some more news off the New England Dragway site. www.newenglanddragway.com

As you know there were a ton of rainouts this season. Vette vs Viper day has been rescheduled for Sunday the 16th. I'm guessing the weatherman won't cooperate and they'll reschedule the Vette's n Vipers of Sunday the 23rd.
And the 29th and 30th will feature a rescheduled Big Buck Race on both days. They'll still run test sessions on those days but unfortunately I don't imagine you'll get many test session passes. Sad

I have a feeling I'm all done for this season. It sucks but what are you gonna do. Just think of all the money I saved not having to gas up the motorhome again.

There's always next year.

Can't imagine what it costs you and MCAS to drive up. How many miles is it? Is NED the closest track to you?

I think I might be done for the year too. Maybe I'll spend the hundred bucks and go up on a Wednesday.

i say we scream discrimination!!! alot of the parts we buy nowadays are imported from somewhere!!! therefore we should be able to run with the imports and vice versa!!!

Jeep, I live 116 miles from the track, to be exact. Mcas7 lives about 20 miles closer. It takes me exactly 2 hours to get there, and a little more than a 1/4 tank of gas. The trip up and back, the motorhome uses about $150.00 in gas, so if I go I better be racing and not just visiting.

Mcas7 just bought a new Dodge P.U. with one of them HEMI engines, so his mileage and time are much lower.

I thought mine was bad I'm about 80 miles away.

I've thought of moving and seriously considering buying a house in Epping. The wife wasn't real happy with the idea.
