My condolences as well!
At my age every one I used to know is either dead or in a nursing home (my doctors keep putting me in them, but I escape after a while as the food is lousey). 51 is incredibly young, but I doubt he died of an accident in his sleep.

so.....back on topic..... i stopped adding the top lube to my homemade race fuel as per Dave's recommendation. while tuning, i saw a little over 15 AFR under boost with no noticeable detonation. i wasnt there long but i know what happens at 15 with low octane fuel. the car lets you know quickly that it doesnt approve. so, i can say it definitely helps mixing the xylene with 93 octane. im still mixing it 25%. _________________

Digging this back up. I found some old notes I had and I have this conversion number from mustang to dyno jet.
HP conversion -> DynoJet = MustangDyno * 1.1382
So taking Paul's HP of 435 * 1.1382 = 495 HP on a DynoJet. _________________ Stop running from your pain and embrace your pain. Your pain is going to be a part of your prize.

LOL I figured 511 but that was with the projection running out of steam at 6200. Now it is angry up to 7200+ easily. A set of radials would have been better to be on the rollers with too instead of the MT cheater slicks.
I am taking the Focus to the dyno saturday to finish tuning it. Probably looking at 145 on the rollers. Should be interesting either way. Fun to be had with a sleeper Focus and these fart can Hondas. No mystery with the Chevelle what is going on. _________________ 2001 Focus 2.0 Zetec

Hey I was about on target. Focus made 147HP/127TQ on the mustang dyno and the corrected numbers matched. It was 70 degrees. Using the 1.1382 correction for the mustang dyno. 167HP/145TQ corrected at the wheels. Cool thing was the cam adjustments which found around 12ft/lbs of torque. On a small 2.0L motor that is huge. Anyway at least it is done to the point where I can get it finished off the dyno and mess with some folks on the street.
I have found a new fuel mix that will get me some pretty high octane and take care of the ethanol too. Torco Accelerator Octane booster and Liquid performance Ethanol Eliminator. The combination should yield me 105 octane for about $4/gallon. Buying the 5 gallon pails of Torco at $260 and the Liquid performance 16oz for $24 + the price of premium unleaded. If I want more I can double the dose and get 110 Octane which would raise cost to $5.30/gallon. _________________ 2001 Focus 2.0 Zetec
