New England Dragway opens in 9 days. I'm not ready for it, need to do a few things first.

Rebuild the rear end.
Brake lines.
Order some rear tires, any suggestions?

I haven't been to the track in a long time and have the urge to go. Not looking to go on opening day but a weekend in April when the weather is good.

Paul. You up for it?

Need the street cleaner to come and all this snow to melt. I am more or less ready. Just have to make some more tuning pulls with the 28psi fuel pressure that I never got a chance to test. This pressure and injector should be able to provide 713 HP worth of fuel so we should be fine. Tires are the next thing but they should be good for one blast or two on the track.

Good luck guys. Let me know when you're going up. I'll try to get up there.
I pulled the 408 to freshen it up. Had leakdown of 12-14%. When I pulled the pan, I found the oil pump screen in the bottom of the pan. There was evidence of main cap walk. The block is at Golen Engine to have splayed caps installed. In the meantime I'm putting a stock ZZ4 in the Nova that a friend owns. He had it in a 41 Ford that ran 1.8's at 97 MPH. He want's me to see if it'll go 100 MPH in my Nova. I think it's possible. I have a better exhaust, torque converter & my car hooks much better.

Still waiting for the street cleaners to come and the snow to melt. Well really just the street cleaners. I have 4 weeks of school left and I am strapped for time on the weekends doing homework and other car work for $$. Should be getting some time to run it either this weekend or next. Now getting it to the track would of course follow after the tune is set which I hope is simple.

Should be fun with that ZZ4 motor just to see what you can get out of it. Laughing

I was up in your neck of the woods today. I stopped in at Jeff Lynch Performance. He's set up and engine-Transmission stand so he can check transmissions. Even has a brake on it to check stall speeds,. Jeff a very clever guy.

Should at least give me a ring to stop in. He is 2.36 miles from my place.
