Glad you're back! I'm helping a buddy with his 72 Monte Carlo now - swapping the 454 for a 540. Should be fun! Clay _________________ I have done so much with so little for so long, I can now do anything with nothing. |

Here are a few pics of the engine.
And some of the car. This first one is pretty old - right after the 454 swap I believe and obviously before he painted it.
This was the previous engine - 454. Went 10.90's on a 125 shot and drag radials.
Here is a pretty neat walk around video he did with it running.

They're 325's as cast with the optional chamber cnc option. They do the entire chamber and as far in the valve bowl as they can reach. They really do a great job with making the transition back to the cast section of the head. Basics are around 10.5 - 1 compession (can't remember exactly - think it's slightly more), AFR heads obviously, Victor intake, custom solid flat tappet by Wolfplace, custom 930 carb (for now), Hooker headers (2 1/8" primaries maybe), 3" Torque Tech exhaust. We're shooting for as close to 700 h.p. as possible. One weak area is carb - it could definately be bigger but he really wants the drivabilitly of the 4150 style carb. General concensus is a 4500 series just doesn't have as good of street manners. We're almost done with the swap, hope to have it fired in a week or so.
