I may be getting a tired LQ4 engine for free. It's a complete motor but has low compression in a couple cylinders. If it's free I'll take it and use it as a mock up to get an LSx engine bolted into the 79Z.

For now this is talk but I'm hoping it will work out.

Tell me you're not just going to set that LQ4 on the side after mocking it up for the LSX...I mean a simple piston swap and you got a LQ9. I don;t blame you for not wanting all that weight in the front end though. I just got one given to me as well...I'm not sure if it is a LQ4 or LQ9 yet because I haven't picked it up and checked the code but it is complete as well..PCM,fuel pump, fuel hardlines, harness, complete FEAD system but my plans are to put it om an '87 v10 silverado.

The LQ4 didn't work out. I'm still keeping my eyes open for a good deal on one.

Nothing was wrong with it. The engine was not offered up anymore. They decided to keep it.
