Ok, i'm trying to calculate compression for my 327. Its .060 over, 3.25 stock stroke, 64cc vortec heads, looking at flat top cast 1423 silvolite pistons, deck height i've read is 1.675 on 327's? Say I use .020 head gaskets. I keep coming up with 2.62 as my compression. What am i doing wrong?? I think i'm using the wrong deck height number.

AutoMath on the site is actually $2.95.

Here's what I come up with (note: I couldn't find the exact dish volume for those pistons)

Code:

You Entered:
Bore 4.06 (inches)
Stroke 3.25 (inches)
Rod Length 5.7 (inches)
Cyl. Head Vol. 64 (cc)
Deck Height 0.015 (inches)
Head Gasket Bore 4.166 (inches)
Head Gasket Thickness 0.039 (inches)
Piston to Cyl. Wall Clearance 0.003 (inches)
Top Ring Land Height 0.25 (inches)
Piston Dome Vol. -6 (cc)

Compression Ratio:
9.414 : 1

Displacement:
336.6(ci), 5.5 (liters)

Bore / Stroke Ratio:
1.249 : 1

Rod / Stroke Ratio:
1.754 : 1

I think Adam is asking, "Alright for what application?" (I'm just assuming he hurt his typing finger).

That is correct. If you intend to spray you better pray.
N/A and under 6500 rpm will be fine.
