Had some more time to address the headers.
Drivers side is the most difficult oddly.
Number 1 is cut now to be re clocked at the weld. The weld i am referring to is on the #1 pipe after it runs behind all the #3 and #7 pipes in this view. This will allow the whole set of pipes to be moved back towards the rear of the car for frame clearance.
I'm done with on the motor at this point it is going in the car for the final fitment.

Progress!
Fitted the passenger side tubes up to the flanges and clamped them together last night. Just tacked the primaries upper and lower together to make sure nothing hits and they drop low enough. These heads are 3/4" higher on the exhaust than stock so drop is critical too.
Now that both sides are fitted and looking ok next step will be to pull the motor and get everything tacked to the head flange.

I might actually get up there soon with my Focus just to try it out before cams and NOS. 
Once the headers are done I will send them out to be coated. After that there will be some tuning to see if I have enough fuel delivery with the Pro-Jection jacked up to 22psi. I do have the Innovative MTX-L WB O2 to check this out.
I guess maybe May or June for the track depending on how things go.

Thanks it was a bit of a PITA but they do fit nice. I might slip insulation over them to prevent them from heating the manifold.

Thanks x 2! Header wrap on things like this and the transmission lines work well. Thanks that is something that could happen to that grease bladder....
By the way take a look at the homemade motor lift plate. That is 3 strips of 1/4" plate that I welded up with the Lincoln. I do have a lot of those lifting rings left lying around if anyone wants one. I have 2 sizes, this one and a larger thicker one. They are something that comes standard on telecom equipment racks and are very strong.

That is my second set of hands holding the pipes in the flange up top.

I want to get these coated after I'm done. I have found a local business to do it up in Hamstead, NH Pro Finishing.

I looked through this post and it goes back over a year now which is embarrassing that it is taking me so long to get this thing together.
I never answered your question back on April 3, 2011.
It had good street manners before I don't think it should be any different. The converter is an old TCI 2513 9" S.B.P. Custom. It stalls at about 4000 on the transbrake.
Anyone could drive it very easily as long as you don't whack the throttle....
Part number sheet I have in the box dated Aug 1 1989 says effective price list as of November 1990. New part number is 251300 which is still good.
Summit has them for $1419.95.
Jegs a lot less at $1213.99.
I paid $702 back then for it.
It is a good converter for street strip motors of this type.
Yes this has served me well! Only maybe 15k miles on it total.
