Last few posts are kind of off topic. Should have a new post for the car build so people know about it. Shame to waste this really nice work in an engine post. _________________ 2001 Focus 2.0 Zetec

Beautiful car p.f., and excellent detail work on the engine block. I'm curious about the overflow tank and breather behind the passenger tire. Are you tapping into the block for that, or the passenger valve cover? I've been trying to decide how best to eliminate the breathers and pcv from my valve covers, as I think the really "ugly up" an engine. I see you are pulling pcv to the rear of the driver valve cover. Are you concerned about oiling the intake on a hard launch? I've been considering drilling the rear of my block and devising a system such as the old 327's and 283's, but yours is very clean and looks to be a lot less work. Also, what brand is that green tea paint? That's very beautiful and I'm thinking it would make a great accent color in ny situation. Thank you for your time and all the pics. Great job! |

why not put the PCV in the back of the intake ? its not difficult on a Victor type intake. it can be done on others, you just have to be careful where you drill. _________________

True, but I think I'm going to do away with the pcv altogether. Glorified vacuum leak at idle and contaminated air, even using a separator. I'll likely use some type of a.I.r. pump to pull a slight depression through a separator canister. Have been contemplating using the back of the block, above the trans flange, as a place for suction and venting lines to keep it all aesthetically sano. Maybe a .5 and .25 inch lines. It's a very clean, well designed system that fleetline is using though. I like it. |

Thanks guys!
Yeh im running a stefs canister to keep all the oil and snot off the engine and makes for a cleaner looking engine bay aswell nothing worse than having to reclean your engine every time you take it out!
The canister is 10 AN ducted to the back side of the pas. valve cover not hooked up yet to the cover just because i need 1/4" more clearance the AN is barely touching the firewall still
And i think i will keep the pcv aswell its on the back side of drivers valve cover and when cars done i will do a a stainless hard line for it i just ran a few temp. hoses to get it running for final engine mock up!
Also paint is a PPG paint its off new honda CRV called Green Tea Met.
New tachs in for mock up!

So are you going to put an oil pressure gauge in one corner and a temperature gauge in the other corner to complete the dash?
I like the concept of only the essentials.

Thanks guys actually im running a new vintage gauge mounted up high between visors and im going to us a mirror the same diamter that will rotate open and swing down off the face of it so i can swing it back up and it will appear as just a mirror and when driving swing over and down still connnected and act as a gauge with mirror under it and when parked just close up to hide the gauges for a real simple wheres your shit at look.
