Have a friend with a 93 5.0 and of course a problem. It's a basic combo, GT40 intake, some sort of aluminum heads, F303 cam, headers, etc. There are some other things unknown that may be contributing to this problem but something has changed recently. It had a water leak at the end of the intake when he bought it. Pulled intake, new gaskets and now it struggles to run well below 1500 - 2000 rpm. I have looked for vacuum leaks, vacuum lines incorrectly hooked up, looked at the IAB, MAF, coolant temp and TPS sensors just mainly double checking they were hooked up. Had some trouble locating the SPOUT connector since they cut off the original setup and had another plug installed. When he bought it the SPOUT was unhooked and since the balancer has a mark at 30* I'm guessing this is where they had the timing basically locked. My question for now is how is the distrubutor properly phased. It looks like the reluctor wheel has a narrow tooth or a wide window depending on how you look at it I'm assuming to "mark" #1 for the computer. Does the narrow tooth need to be in the pickup or the wide window? I have looked all over the cap trying to find a "1" molded into it or otherwise marked but no luck. I'm wondering if maybe he basically has the injector timing / spark out of sync. It's a stab but all I have for now. MSD's installation instructions sorta suck so no help there. Clay
