i finally figured out what length pushrods i need (8.440) so i took a look at Summit. they have several sets of 8.450. im thinking this is probably close enough. i have no idea what brand or wall thickness i should be looking for other than i need 3/8 diamiter. i see .080 wall, and .135 wall. some costing a little over $100 for 16 and some over $400. my cam has .658 lift and i dont intend to spin the engine more than about 6500. spring pressure is 195 seat/445 open. suggestions needed please.

What is the rocker ratio and weight involved with valves etc? That has a lot to do with it.

This is one place where bigger/ thicker is better.

Also the p/r companies can make any length needed.

rockers are 1.6. valves are nothing special. just the stainless valves that came in the Ebrocks. i dont mind ordering custom length but i need to be able to buy direct. im tired of having to depend on someone else to order the correct stuff and having everything get screwed up.

Smith brothers is what the locals use since they are not to far. Very nice people to deal with.

I have used Trick Flow brand and Howards brand lately. Mine are 5/16" and 0.080" wall 4130 heat treated of course. However I don't see your length listed in Competition Products catalogue in that brand. They list Manley brand in the 8.450" length for $74.94 per set of 8. With a 3/8" diameter and the spring pressures you have I think about any brand would be fine and just order the most convenient ones for you. Clay

Smith Bros. will be the correct length, wall thickness, and heat treat for your ap. plus they are probably going to be less expensive, and you are dealing direct.
