Morel litters. Pro mag rockers. Shaft mounts would be nice and are preferred for those 230's. Gotta fine out why timing set did what it did first before putting it back together. Throwing parts at it may or may not work and can be expensive! Big block or go home hehe. |

For lifters I'd look at isky redzones or howards, i've heard great things about them. Spare no expense on your solid roller lifters when runnin it as a streeter. Havnt heard much of anything good from anybody runnin comps stuff lately.u |

yeah it is definately a mystery, the chain and crank gear were fine it was the cam gear that had 6 teeth broken off the only answer i can think of is that it is real shyty timing set, and it couldnt handle the abuse(RPM)or something ? . the timing gear said gm on it, but it is an edelbrock double roller set EDL-7802 it was only $30 i put it on like 3 years ago, i asked a few other people i know and they said its very possible that it just stretched out and put to much stress on the teeth? i just hope that everything else is going to be fine, i brought all of my stuff to the guy i had machine the block and get everything all set for me to build a few years ago and he said the block looked good, he polished my crank, and just put new cam bearings in it and gave me new crank, rod bearings to, he said i would need to just get a new cam and get new lifters or rebuild them, but i dont think i would rebuild those after this happened, there is marks that i did see on the cam when i got home today from the lifters, lines on where it rode on the cam, and a few flat spots on the lobes. _________________ 79' 350 block w/ splayed main caps

one thing i do remember is that when i assembled my engine my cam button did not fit under the timing cover, so i had to grind some of the alum. away, i wonder if i could have took too much out of it or not enough, maybe it wasnt riding right against it, and it could be possible that i need different gears to. _________________ 79' 350 block w/ splayed main caps
