My first post here. My car ,about 700 miles on new motor has ran three 1/4 mile passes first 13.65 cecond 13.23 and best 13.02 @106.24 with a 1.92 60 ft all on 255-60-r15 (no tractoin) half pedal in first and stab after spinning in second. everyone tells me that with D.O.T. I should run low to mid 12s Does that sound about right?
Friday I took my car to get rear wheel dyno and it showed 315 rear horse and 395 TQ , from 3800 to 6100 was over 300Hp in thrid gear ,my? here is is this enough hp to get in the 12s 3900# with driver

Seeing that you already ran a 13.02 traction limited.I would say yes Very Happy I have seen cars that dynoed poorly and run awesome #'s so don't use it as a reference to what the car can do.

I agree with heavychevys, your car should get into the 12s with traction.

Anything you can do to make the car lighter?

Put skinnies on the front.

Are you running an open air element under the hood?

Using the calculators here your not that far off, I was using 3750# for car & driver weight (didnt catch the 3900# thing, oops!). I wouldnt expect too much from a regular tire.

Your mph is good for the mid 12's, but you know your traction limited. That 60' also shows your spinning off the line, your rear gear isnt a problem.

You could play with different launch rpm & shift points. I cant leave at anything above 1500rpm's without a big smokey mess! How about some drag radials?

Thanks for the replies Very Happy hope to get the car in low12s, orderd some cal-tracs & sub-frams also set of 27 by 11.5 D.O.T. I have a fine looking air set-up I`ve got a 14" drop base with a 14 K&N without the lid and it seals to the bottom side of air-indution hood also running a 9" by5" filter with a extreme lid that goes up into my stock air-induction hood that I cut the base out off ( flaps still works) will be taking car back to the track in about two or three weeks.
I was looking for about 425 to 475 hp But I guess 1/4 mile times speak louder then HP. Smile any tips will be concederd. thanks MIKE

Hey, what rpm are you shifting at? I saw in your sig you have a 282s (solid?) cam but listed your chipped out at 6200 in the msd? You must be shifting at 6K then? Seems kinda low!
