hi guys,
ive oil leaking out of the dipstick (driver side) of my 400 sb. was there an 0-ring to seal it? what keeps the sleeve held in the block?? _________________

No O-ring it is a press fit. If it is a loose fit then I would maybe get a new one that will press in and not leak. A little hardening sealer will work well to act as a lube to get it installed and then a glue to hold it in place once it sets. |

If you want a good way to retain the dipstick into the block use Locktite 680 bearing retention compound. (you better hope you want it there cause it will never come out again)

after the mess the blow by made - i want it in for good!
thanks corey, i will try that if my attempt fails.
i used slicone adhesive around the shaft and a ring of red permatex at the top..we'll see what happens.
