KustomCandy -> In the area here there is a Chrome trim, that over time causes Rust to form. Left to long and you'll have little metal to work with!

disturbthepeace1 -> I thought there has to be more power in this little motor so I had a T/3 from my previous bug motor and decided to make hybrid, pretty simple the only thing is that i have to get the t/3 shaft tuned .010 under to fit the fresh bearings in my t/4 center section. I figure i dont get full boost till about 5000rpm so if i could make that same 16psi at 3000rpm; that's free hp? hope Im right........in the picture you can see the drastic difference in exhaust housing size.
af2 -> 4130 crome molly 1 " tubes. .095 lower and .058 upper. Made the wheel section rubber mounted with leverage on the upper bars to eliminate the springs everyone uses and don't work when they bottom out. All TIG welded.
af2 -> Got the chassis cert for 8.50 or slower. I'm stoked! If I had a couple of bars in different places it would have cert at 7.50.
Recert 3/09
af2 -> 4130 Chrome molly Y bar with press in bearing ends tig welded.
af2 -> Long block assembled!! Everything is coming together finally. All clearanses are correct except the exaust rockers. I will clearance them to miss the retainers.
